this is baffling. i'm pretty sure diddy is on e in this clip.
don't you wish you were in miami this weekend to get down with some "electro-tech" (!)? i'm not too sure why he was so unhappy about the last few WMC conferences, but now i'm curious. oh, and announcing who the surprise guest is doesn't make it a surprise anymore dumbass.
Without a doubt my favorite song in the world right now is this heater from Kelly Polar's new album I Need You To Hold On While The Sky Is Fallingout now onEnviron. From it's silky disco production(which actually hits pretty hard) and undeniable hook, this song just gets me. Give it a shot if you don't already know about it because Morgan Geist, Kelly Polar and Environ should be on everyone's radar. They're amazing...
This album is from FoF friend Mochipet. He wears a big purple dinosaur suit when he performs and pretty much murders any style of electronic music imaginable. His new record Microphonepet drops on Daly City Records(his label) April 1st!
Some MP3s and a mix too...can it get any better?

At 12 or so, my interest in music had just began to bud. At the time, Alanis Morisette's Jagged Little Pill was hotter than dog shit on a skillet. And dog shit it was. Of course, like most impressionable 12 year olds, I was just one sheep in the popular culture flock, and I could recall with little difficulty the lyrics to no less than 7 of her many hit songs.
My father, recognizing my musical transgressions, decided to intervene. Into my lap he dropped a little cassette with the messily scrawled words "Plastic Bertrand" on one side and "Ca Plane Pour Moi" on the other. And with one listen, I was hooked. The Chuck Berry guitar, the the rollicking vocals punctuated by Beach Boys trills, the heady sax--a "punk-rock" classic, and in French.
Fast-forward 7 years. Roving the internets, I chance upon another Plastic Bertrand gem, and he once again impresses me with his musical versatility with the disco-lite jammer from 1982, "Stop Ou Encore." Though you've probably heard "Ca Plane Pour Moi" before (it's been featured in more than one commercial), here are both songs for your aural enjoyment:
My good friends over at Circuitree are throwin' a Winter Music Conference shindig and I'll be there with bells on. With guests like edIT, Jimmy Edgar, Machine Drum, Junc Ops and more (plus a Dj set from yours truly) this should be a night of broken neck vertebrae and glitched out mayhem...sounds like I'll be right at home

So, I'm pretty serious about that. After releases on too many great labels to name, he is returning this summer with a new LP entitled Love To Make Music To on Ninja Tune! Check out this link to a FREE download of the first single, 'Hrs:Mins:Secs' which includes a pretty murderous dancy remix by Etan Greenwich:
So, this is basically a collection of 12"s that have been re-issued by Dutch label Clone Classic Cuts from long ago. You can hear Disco/80's all over this compilation and in all the finest ways possible. I've had "Single Girl" for a while, but I have to say I am now obligated to collecting the rest. Look out for it
